Wind axe
What is the proc rate for wind axe here? It seems a lot less than I'm used to.

Re: Wind axe
Silent,
The proc rate is 4% - which is the default value for this codebase (l1j-en). I am not opposed to adjusting it given that a valid reason is provided. It it's discovered to be incorrect through your testing, let me know and I will look into it.

Re: Wind axe
I dont know if it was just us, but I've had both wind axe and winter spear for awhile. What I have noticed is this. Sometimes the procs occur and you dont see the animation. Other times it seems to not work at all for 10+ mins. I've found if I unep and reqp it seems to fix the issue for some time though. Hope this information helps a little

Re: Wind axe
It actually does help. I think I noticed something similar, switching weapons where it often procs on the first hit when I switch. Thanks for all the input!

Re: Wind axe
Honestly I don't think its at a Horrible Rate, that being said it is rather low on the side of proc's I would love to see the proc rate increased a few %. I firmly believe the AOE weapons help classes outside of Mage/Elf to EXP more efficient and keep up with the EXP rate of said classes. I on the other hand think that them classes are superb in AOE spells for a reason though, so seeing it to high of a % would unbalance that, but thats just my opinion.

Re: Wind axe
i have used a wind axe, the rate does seem low it would proc 2 times then go 3-4 pulls (somtimes more) and no proc at all but i did try the changing wep thing seem to work but its based off luck too, so i know the code is 4% i have asked be4, but maybe it just needs to be uped? maybe.

Re: Wind axe
Proc rate was increased to 6%, up from 4%.

Re: Wind axe
Thanks, Charles! I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Re: Wind axe
a Higher Proc rate would be nice , its only used for grinding out xp anyways. Nobody pvps with it, well i hope they dont.

Re: Wind axe
I think it's at a great spot now! Thanks for the update

Re: Wind axe
if increasing proc rate to help "mostly" knight aoe farming, then why not increase all aoe weapon proc rate such as DE edo. you cannot just help 1 class to get better farming, this seem like unfair to other.
*i know gm did increased the proc rate for DE edo, but i am just using it as a exsample.

Re: Wind axe
It also helped dragon knight as well and as you said de aoe has been added on ronde and the spear was also adjusted to the same proc rate so that helps the princes. Mage and elf don’t need anything and the only class that really lacks aoe is illusionist technically they can use wind axe but it’s just not optimal.

Re: Wind axe
so I guess it is sad time for dex elf that is using bow? or should everyone who is not int based carrying a windaxe/winterspear?
not all elf are int.
My point is if we have to buff a weapon proc for "some" class to leveling easier, then it may lead to unfair for others.
DE only has 1 weapon that do aoe, knight has option.
Don't forget Knight is a most play class here already before this discussion happen and the 1 of the reason GM buff the edo is because they want to see more DE in the server.

Re: Wind axe
ronde edo was buffed because its rarity level did not correspond at all to its strength, making it aoe killed two birds with one stone in helping DE.
you can use a spear as an elf just fine if you really want to, 12int elf still levels faster than all of the melee classes anyway, theese aoe weapon buffed helped melee have any kind of chance in leveling versus mages 2shotting entire packs with meteor
when this discussion occured knight was by far the least played, there was maybe one or two high level knights EVERYONE was mage and elf

Re: Wind axe
Sorry to bump an old thread, but sort of related. Could we increasethe Sword of Thunder to 6% as well? It's not an aoe weapon, but I was playing around with it on the test server, and going from 4-6% like the axe and the spear would probably make the difference between it being usable or not.
