Knight solo boss
I haven’t played since early 2000s and was never an end game player so apologize in advance for this probably very noob question.
I was on test server today trying things out with a knight, essentially with gear that will likely take a long time to obtain even on this server (lv 76, around -95 ac, 23 wis, 18 dex, rest str, ~130MR, didn’t max elemental resist, just have Val armor and ~35 ish ele resist from a few +accessories (85ish fire), 9fid, cb, etc.).
Using only -buff, haste and brave, I tried out some bosses. At toi 90F I got annihilated by starting mobs quickly, couldn’t keep up with a clears. Same story at 100F. Similar story at ice queen with a few of her adds and guards, a clears wasn’t even close to keep up the healing.
Are knights supposed to have this much trouble with bosses at lv 76 with such high end gear? Is it because I wasn’t at 100 ele resist targeted against a particular boss? Or are knights not able to solo high end bosses without cm scrolls, better buffs, etc.? As I understand the areas I tried out aren’t even the true end game areas, which are presumably even tougher. This was obviously very discouraging as I really enjoyed playing knight back in the days.
Would love some feedback and tips on how to play a knight in end game pve. Thanks in advance!

Re: Knight solo boss
ya f90/100 is hard/impossible as knight. solo.. cant tank that many, not worth going there as knight.
f81-84 has some good spots if you want to hunt for acc. scrolls as knight... but you have to use doors and such to get into 1v1/1v2 spots.ice queen shouldnt be to hard.. maybe try cm scrolls (only spell that hurts is destroy, shouldnt need water resist for blizzard).
in general you want elemental resist at 100 (127 is the actual cap, but only shows to 100 in character screen).
100mr + 100 elemental resist = easy bosses (there's some exceptions like lich,gr,tarak,yahee ofc..).
you gotta learn what elemental resist is needed for what boss, also some bosses have high physical dmg (baranka, ken rahuel for example).
you can use high raccoons on them (they lower their dmg significantly), just make sure to position them behind the boss, or they'll die to their 180degree AOE.kurtz/ag/bapho = earth resist
pho/dk/aq/beleth/varlok = fire resist
de = wind resistnot that hard to figure out most of the elemental resist u need tbh.
you can whisper me ingame if u need more info.

Re: Knight solo boss
Bossing with a knight is not as good as it used to be back in the day.
Illusionists and Dark Elfs Do it better for melee.
Mages will always win if bossing is what u looking for.

Re: Knight solo boss
Thanks for the replies Zhin and mamore. So with 100 ele resist and 100 mr, keeping up with most bosses with clears is easy on knight? It was ridiculous how fast I was getting pounded by even non-boss mops with high end gear...
For PVE is it still advised to candle to full WIS, add wis to 23, dex to 18, then rest to str?
What makes mage so good for bossing? Sorry really havent played mage much in the past. Any tips/guides?

Re: Knight solo boss
mage is good because it has the highest "dps" and immune to harm (50% less dmg taken).
the mobs in toi (f81-100) just hit real hard, even with 100mr,100ele resist and -100ac+ that won't change.
that's why it's mainly (if not only) mages running to f90 (lich) and f100 (gr), they have immune to harm.. makes it way easier to tank dmg.
