Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
@Calvin
More castles, more fights.
To all of you smart asses:
There was a siege at 9AM European Time, Tuesday. One at 3AM, Thursday. And one 19PM Saturday.
9 AM was unattended because most people have a job. Personally, I can manage wednesdays/fridays to be off-regular hours too. But I am for sure an exception.
3 AM, everyone has a life.
19 PM was really nice, to be honest. That was catering. But, as I discussed with some of you, people have personal-life besides jobs. And weekends are the most demanding usually. So personally, I couldnt attend to sieges and I was the one rallying people to fight. Not because we could win, but because some people like sieges as pvp. Not as a manner of griefing.
The thing is, I tried my best to rally people of Europe. Against some serious odds. Exhausting.
As it is exhausting to propose some nice ideas which would benefit the server and still put 0 arguments against. Just saying it is bad idea or blah blah.
More castles, more fights. Yeah, maybe will be 4 of you vs 8 of us. Well, Same story Calvin, you are always outnumbered. But you WOULD have another option to fight.
Maybe, those castle sieges will be unattended. Maybe. Also, put a low reward. Siege by itself should be self-rewarding. Like someone said, 24m in 3 days splitted to all bp was just a formality.
On the contrary Calvin, upping the rewards will only lure more greed. Sieges will turn into mini-events that will help to fuel more item-economy unbalance on a private server.
Short-term, maybe yeah it will help. Long term no-bueno. Bottom line, if it should, cater people who went fighting for the sake of it. I also remember that our pledge was outnumbered and we went charging in. NO discord. Just for fun.
More castles, more fun. Open Orc town may be. Or Heine. Or even Windawood. Beleth staff/boots aren't that great compared to Destroy.
And please, do-cater Europe. Because, what is obvious: Calvin still complaining not enough participation. Make it easier to Europe Time zones.
I can't promise I will attend. But I want to. Can't speak for other Europeans. But if the option is there, we might show up.
TIP for GMs: I would try 18PM/21PM Paris Time.
@shitcoins
I haven't still get answer about what is wrong with you. Party pooper.

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
one of the problems is a pledge can't siege another castle when they already own one.
alliances don't work (i think), that would be a nice alternative to sieging/owning multiple castles without swapping pledges etc.
having multiple castles available isn't a bad thing, especially when they are in different time slots and rotate in time slots.
this is probably hard to implement, but it would be fair for most that want to participate in sieging and pvp.

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
What about this? --> Implement a time rotation on sieges like "next siege is always 79 hours from the last siege". (need be a number like +5 or +7 hours added to 24hour cycle make a decent rotation 24h*3=72+7)
So if you add a odd number of hours in the rotation the time will be different always.
Example:
1st Siege: 1/4/19 at 0:00 Monday
2nd Siege: 4/4/19 at 7:00 Thursday
3rd Siege: 7/4/19 at 14:00 Sunday
4th Siege: 10/4/19 at 21:00 Wednesday
5th Siege: 14/4/19 at 4:00 Sunday
As you can see it will produce a decent rotation and adds a new strategy factor to other bp's: Try to steal the castle in a "low enemys hour" that can be a option to others bp's to try to do the castle. Because if you know the current owners usually don't play at one hour that is fine for you probably you will have more options if they are lows numbers.
The nice part of this rotation is that somedays it will be a massive sieges, others days with low population, and you will never know what will happen.
We can add too info on the website to know when is the next siege. And the most important once you win the siege you will have the castle the same time as others.
That's my suggestion
Thank you for read!

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
Great addition Zhin and Ignacius.
Arguments.
Alliances are a must have in my opinion. Some pledges are not interested in sieges as a whole. But some leaders may allow some members to participate as allies.
Or some small pledges may join forces.
That Castle owners can't declare is a drawback. Indeed. Not sure if it can be solved due the pledge-house spell... I have no idea. If you can have multiple "houses/castles" shouldn't be a problem to allow siege participation even owning a castle.
Also, in my opinion. If you don't declare, you shouldn't be at siege zone...

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
Nothing wrong with another castle WHEN there are actual players to PvP. Right now siege action is slim... it does not need an extra castle for the very few that actually goes to have another castle. If one side has a castle and the other takes the other there would not be any action at all .... if things pick up and siege is what it was 2-3 weeks ago then maybe. But the actual population of players who are fighting rn is literally not going to survive with another castle being inputted at its current state lol

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
nice revisionist history, the first set of siege times was the following:
Tuesday 3PM Euro Time
Thursday 3AM Euro Time
Saturday 7pm Euro Time
This left Saturday and Tuesday as very dead times because people could not make it and the Euro turnout was sporadic on Saturday
They were then adjusted to :
Tuesday 11PM Euro Time
Thursday 3AM Euro Time
Saturday 7pm Euro Time
And guess what, the Euros that now have two siege slots still didn't show up.
After a third adjustment Tuesday was moved from 11PM Euro to 3AM Euro because once again, NOBODY attended it. Saturday remained 7PM Euro time for what 3 months since its launch and was only changed recently because oh wow you guessed it, NOBODY SHOWED UP.

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
I was at Kent this saturday. With 3 members of my pledge.Nobody there. I drop 1 adena near turret. Did you find it?
We don't need reminders that the schedules were like that or like this. Should I start a mud throwing war that nobody attended? Are you that short minded?
Come on. Arguments. At leat Calvin did...
Calvin, we were 4 and we would have fought. Unlucky our royal wasnt there this weekend and we couldn't declare. Your arguments are funded on REWARD from castle. No new rewards means that PVP only benefits of opening a new castle. Because, you open oportunities.
May be our royal will be in game if there is another castle schedule. May be he let us fight, I think he would.
Some sort of alliance system should greatly help too. In my opinion.

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
Nobody declared, this saturday, so we didn''t show up. I'm not against you guys getting another chance at a time slot to siege once again, but to call it mud slinging or insulting when I'm stating facts contrary to your previous statements of you trying to make it out like you never had a chance.
Like I said I'm okay with you having another chance but don't try to say its been against you the whole time or play the victim once anyone disproves or disagrees

Re: CASTLE INCENTIVES
I attended past saturday. Doh! Sunday was taxing to wake up.
No one declared...
Open more time slots. Please. Open more castles. Please. Diversify Time slots. Please.
Thank you.
