Boss Camping
Edit: I made a poll, Should be allowed "easy" boss camping? Understanding as easy, to leave a character in the boss spot doing nothing until the boss spawns.
I'm tired of people that left characters around a boss spot, and forgive them loged for hours because they have 2 pc's and can control with one eye when the boss spawns. I think the spirit of game is to made a raid to check the boss, or at least go running to check if it's up and venz if it isn't.
But it's easy left a character in Kurtz, or in invis in bapho/beleth/demon or diamond golem (you go clean and left the character).
Probably many people will think that this is a legit way to play, but I think it's not fair and not funny. I have 2 pc's in me house too and I don't boss camp I expend my time checking bosses one after one, and yes I confess I use the other pc to has a character in town buffing :P
Then I've been thinking in diferent options to avoid the boss camping:
1- Add a random spawn of "hard mops" in the boss place, not many because it's unfair if they spawn at same time that boss, but enough to kill afk players. Of course these mops should drop 0 and 0 exp
2- If it's a dungeon and it's possible, add HP drain that starts when you stay without moving after 300s, and increases over time the hpdrain
3- If it's the boss spot and it's possible add a teleport to town if you stay more than 30 minutes without moving in a concrete area you get kicked from the boss place and back to town
What do you think?

This is a tricky one but worth investigating options for.
I'm against spawning something "extra" in boss rooms unless we add extra AI code for that mob to only target players that have been idle for >X minutes (we can even call him idle killer) and make him drop very little or nothing at all.
The negative HPR option is kind of moot because one can just stack HPR to counter it, unless we make it so that +HPR from items is not counted toward the total while in these areas. -

None of the suggestions work, besides soft banning these players?
The mobs are a waste, they harm players than can just barely handle the boss, the teleport is an issue if you legit walked there, invis to take a piss then leave immediately after(which may be exploited!) The HP drain just harms players who are doing it legit.
If they need to move they just have to click the mouse once every 15-300 seconds not difficult. Cant remove the HPR as that's retarded sorry lol... I built my low knights and DE's with HPR to save pots, Dark robe, pretender king gear is +hpr makes it nice to stand around for 30 seconds and regen while drinking water then get to hunting again in a low area.
But agree'd I see a mage sitting at kurtz daily(I love when he dies to kurtz hehe) when I actually spend the time to waste Btele to go to every spot and waste time to check the boss....It wouldn't take me more than 30 mintues to setup 6 systems to set 1 char at every location... I don't wanna do that though... I wanna play it like it was meant to, with a character doing the work.-Yoshi

This is, was and always has been a part of lineage. You don't remember people sitting at bapho and the race to get to him when tele u all to the start? Waiting for caspa to spawn? Drake's? Pho? Ppl always afk at bosses to get them. Lvl 10 char lvl 70 char same shit. Use a VM or two computers

That was with HUNDREDS of players on live... not 100 players... That was a requirement because there was 15 seconds till the boss died because 300 people were checking it.

This is a tricky one. Mostly because some suggestions are not solving the underlying problem. This needs to be adressed, even if the abusers will complain. They want to play? Play fair.
There is a easy solution though for some areas:
- Auto-venz timer while in the area. If I am not mistaken, there were some areas that had something similar already Live.
They want to camp a boss, they have to bring the char over and over, all the way.
- Spawn area increase + random.
I can't remember correctly, but for instance, Kurtz spawned all over TI at the end in Live server. Or Phoenix, It had a more wide spawn area.
I think this is quite easy to implement, as spawn area can be also manipulated directly. Boundries need to be tested to avoid weird spawn places. That can be done at test server with GM spawn command.

or increase the amount of clients someone can open, voiding the huge advantage someone using a VM/multiple computers have.

@Myknight, still doesn't stop the level 70-75 from camping it and face fucking the boss before you even have the slightest chance to see it. And they didn't have to work to find it lol....
Even 1 person or 2 people against bosses are under 2-3 minutes... Meaning if you're in TOI your alt see's it you teleport out within 15 seconds walk to the boss for 30 seconds, it's probably been killed lol. Kurtz dies within 20-30 seconds in most cases after spawning. And these people have the timers to a fucking science lol... I think it would be nice to randomize boss timers 100% and prevent camping. So you would be required to check every time. And don't bitch that's too hard it's lineage.. people PK you for no reason, people grind GP every day for some reason. Go hunt your bosses. If you walk to 10f to check ZQ you get zels/dais, 20f you can get CMW/ab and Rings, 30f you get int ammy, fire rings, zel/dai, 40f zel/dai 50f gems, scrolls, rings. There's a benefit of something to just check... Everyone knows that to get to 90f mages just AB run and fuck the people who actually walk it anyway lol.-Yoshi

That just increases the problem. So instead of some just abusing it, it is even MORE...
Randomize, increase spawn-time period or locations. Force them to walk and actually CHECK.
Area based timers so they are kicked out of the area.
All those are viable solutions. You will see how they stop using VPN/Multiple computers.

An easier solution for something like Diamond Golem would be to have monsters still spawn even with you on screen. Then you can't just hide your camper and not worry about mobs killing you. Randomizing the spawn locations of Kurtz (to a few spots at least, all over the island he may never get killed) and Phoenix would help with those 2 but unless they went and modified every boss respawn timer then you are still in the same boat with campers. Most servers have a randomizer of sorts on their bosses, but they are generally in the same spawn windows.
If you want some more pvp on bosses or something then buff the HP of most bosses and have a server message announcing when each boss spawns.
