Why are mages the most popular Class?.

Am i missing something?.

Mages are the fastest leveling class in the game. And have the ability to out farm others for arena and gear. Some players use a mage to gear up the class they wish to play. Half of them actually stay only on the mage.

Pretty much what was already said. Mages just make tons of money, and can farm gear very quickly for other classes. Its a good starting class to get going with. Very utilitarian.
