Yet another event idea
First of all, English is not my first language, so I hope I've made myself clear in this explanation.
Hell is trying to reach the surface! Heroes are needed to stop this from happening.
The event starts with a sealed portal (same gfx as Thebes portal maybe?) appearing in one of the towns TI, Gludio, Giran, or SKT. Mobs from nearby dungeons (TI, ML, DVC, and Silver Knight caves) get a "hell buff" (level, stats and drops increased, lawful points decreased, some bosses could also spawn more often, random tele and tele lady disabled for the duration of the event).
These buffed mobs drop a special item, let's call it X, that has to be collected (by everyone) to close a portal. This X item is given to an NPC which keeps track of how many are missing to close the portal.
For example, a 1% chance of dropping X and 1000 have to be collected by everyone. If the 1000 items are collected during the event, the portal is closed and some buff is given to the entire server until the next raid (2x exp for example).
If the items are not collected, the portal will open and hell mobs (buffed mobs from the dungeon) will spawn in the corresponding town (and you shouldn't be able to tele into this town).
To close the portal, we have to wait some predefined amount of time or go into the raided town, then into the portal to hell (the same hell map but being able to tele out) and collect the X items. If the portal is closed this way, no buff is given when closed. Some additional ideas for PVP:
- You could also "burn" the X item with an evil NPC for an "evil" buff (+2 hit or dmg or something like that).
- If you burn the X item, you cannot give the item to close the portal.
- If you have the initial "evil" buff and kill someone in the dungeon, you receive an extra buff (for each kill maybe?).
- If the portal is opened and you had this "evil" buff, you get the raid buff (instead of the rest of the server).
