STR damage bonus
Ill preface this by saying I only tested this on the DE class on the test server. I did this after hearing STR bonuses do not work with DE's on this version of code(?) So I decided to test it and make my gametime, worktime.
How I ran my tests is by hitting the storage dwarf 20 times recording the numbers, took the average over those numbers and repeated the test 5 more times. I did this with a .level 18 STR DE with a +0 Kedo first WITHOUT adding any stats, then adding stats to STR till I reached the maximum allowed.
First the test with 0 str added, and 0 str items.
27.4 / 27.1 / 27.8 / 26.5 / 27.4
0 str added, +5 str worth of items. ( beleth boots, str ammy, str tee, power gloves)
27 / 27.5 / 27.5 / 28.2 / 27.6
MAX str added, +4 str, buffs (45 STR total)
32.5/ 32 / 31.2 / 32.8/ 31.2
This took a long time to test, however form these test I believe that from my test adding STR items offered no benefit to damage. More so, after a character reaches max str it only yields minimal damage bonuses.
My suggestion is that the STR bonus needs to be looked at and tested further to see if this is a DE issue or all class issue. I took it about as far as I'm willing to go as its a very time consuming process to test this out on the front end, and i dont want to spend the little game time i have number crunching.I fight for the rights of all dark skinned elfs.

Re: STR damage bonus
very easily testable with a dagger (only rolls 1-2) every point of STR from gear or item worked as indicated by the STR charts

Re: STR damage bonus
I'm not going to call you a liar, but can you show your work?
What str chart were you useing?
What class?
Maybe this is an edo specific issue.
I did a pretty detailed test i think im going to need more than "nah fam, its good" With all due respects.

Re: STR damage bonus
I have said sense my first week on the server and a little testing on test server I don't believe the char creation dmg bonus from str a working. I made a 18 con knight and a 20 str knight bought them the same weapons made them both +7 wore 0 other gear. Did many tests on mobs and and storage dwarf with dmg on and did not see the +4 dmg the str kight should have had. No idea what gains str gives beyon that as I didn't test that but I would have to are something about str is now working correctly.

Re: STR damage bonus
Hey Folks,
I appreciate everyones testing, and verifications, this is how we get a near perfect server... everyones vigilance. I wanted to share what i've done to allow this discussion, and testing to reach a conclusion and/or be fixed on the server side, if its wrong.
I added a -dmg on option on test server for everyone to properly validate their damages without the random number generators.
Total = Total Damage
Str Bonus = Bonus Added per each Str added to your character
Starting Stat bonus = strength bonus applied based on starting stats (whats on the character creation screen).
Level bonus = Strength bonus based on level... De.. Knight.. etc get 1 dmg per 10 levels
Str Bonus Chart:
Starts at dmg = -6 for all classes
From 0 to 22 STR, you get 1 dmg bonus for ever 2 points (Example: 22 strength = 11 -6 = 5)
From 23 to 28 STR, you get 1 dmg for every 3 points into strength (Example: 28 Str = 11 + 2 - 5 = 7)From 29 to 32 STR, you get 1 dmg for every 2 points into stegnth (exampl: 32 Str = 9 bonus)
From 33 to 34 ... is 1 dmg bonus per point in str
From 35+ is 1 dmg bonus per 4 points in str

Re: STR damage bonus
anyone testing on storage dwarves, they're considered large. the way I tested was normal dagger has a large damage of 2, making it roll 1-2 AKA only two different numbers. add str items/starting bonuses/etc. and you will see it increases directly with the info charles posted as well as starting bonuses

Re: STR damage bonus
I didn't answer to the post. Because I never stated that STR bonus was wrong for DE or any other class.
I stated that DE multipliers apply BEFORE str bonuses, rendering STR DE a suboptimal class. But this is my opinion. Obviously, each point of damage helps to kill a character. It is just that I prefer INT for theorically more burst damage on thebes and landing Shadow sleep. Which defines an assassin.
All my testing on classes that depend on DEX or STR for damage had the expected results as Charles' table. That is standard attribute stat since beta by the way. But there weren't starting bonuses.
