Revisiting the Web Market
After looking through all of the suggestions, I didn't see one that specifically dealt with the web market (presumably because it's already a planned feature), so forgive me if this constitutes a double post.
Charles did mention in a thread under General that the market deployment is not a priority because of high shop activity. I appreciate that there is a somewhat robust trade community in GTZ, but relying entirely on it has some shortcomings, particularly for new players.
I’m a noob here, but I came from Zelgo (RIP) where I, like a huge number of others on this server, spent several years. One thing that has stood out to me about doing the noob grind again here is the problem of making money early on, wasting large amounts of time hunting spellbooks/SCs/etc., and purchasing basic goods such as bteles and arrows. These things are all simplified with a web market.
Web markets also provide real-time price competition, which combats inflation and sets realistic long-term values. Player shops have low limits on the number of items players can buy or sell, and the adena cap makes it impossible to list highly valuable items. Being able to list end-game items on the web market is doubly important because whether or not you get the asking price on the market, listing it alone provides ongoing awareness of the sale/item that does not require constant global advertising in-game. Additionally, running multiple shops daily is not an option for everyone.
That said, Zelgo proved that there are some vulnerabilities that may accompany web markets. Not being an expert, myself, I have no clue whether those same vulnerabilities would exist or could be exploited here. The biggest risk factor (coming from a layperson) seems to exist with the linking of personal storage to a public-facing website. Perhaps if we do end up going the web market route, a separate storage dwarf could be implemented entirely for the purpose of accommodating web market storage.

Re: Revisiting the Web Market
I totally agree with you.
Back on Zelgo, I really love the idea of the web market. It is one of the big feature.
it allow me sell simple items on it without worrying about if my computer at home stay on or not.
More transparent on pricing.
etc
However, the time I was in Zelgo, The web market had been down few times for vary issues.
So I think adding web market will lead to A LOT more work for GM to handle, and from other post GM already said he will address web market but in low priority.
So I would not push GM for it. I like how much interaction GM with other fix and update currently.
Also, I feel the server is more "alive" when a lot of peopler standing in GTZ.
Don't forget GM is maintenancing this game for free for us.........
Can we get the Darkelf balance first

Re: Revisiting the Web Market
the features i seen on sum server could make it ppl not needing webmarket ...
u setup a shop , once its up n running u restart and ur shop was staying up till you log back on the toon ... with 1 account you could literaly have 7 shop up and play on the #8 (on elites to do so u had to , quit game once u restarted and start again the client or you would get error)
myself i would like webmarket , cuz it last even if server reset.
but as i could understand , webmarket was a way to dupe on zelgo.
whatever gm does , we will appreciate it for sure....

Re: Revisiting the Web Market
I'm not ok with webmarket. I've been thinking a lot, and my conclusion was that the game is best without a web market, cause the prices are more stable. You have the option to leave the character in shop mode, and you can use the chat too for sell if you needs sell fast. With shops we can't know how many items are outside, and that helps people don't overprice when they sell and if you are selling in general chat, you are not going to put a high price, cause you want to sell. Lineage has always a inflation problem, because mobs generate more adena that is expended, the webshop for me is not a good idea, cause makes the inflation problem bigger.

Re: Revisiting the Web Market
If you need a web market for a population of around 70 players...
You can set up shop.
You can global chat.
If you are not selling your items: bargain.
