so out of the games you posted two of them would be considered mmorpgs or even action rpgs dota and league ok ya they track kills but totaly diff type of game and it doesnt matter the objective in those games is what matters killing the enemy base kils are just a means to an end. ive won many games behind on kills win ratio matters not kills. also WOW lol track how many kills you get in bg?!?!?! its not even relevant. kill count doesnt have to be meassure to have a game be successfull. i can go either way on this topic doenst really matter to me. PoE has pretty decent pvp and doesnt track kills it has rating. WE DONT NEED pvp rankings announcements is fine this game has always been about bragging rights and controlling zones you can not even get a kill in this game and win the battle . D2 also have a huge pvp community and did ZERO tracking on kills. there is not right or wrong answer on this people will still random pk maybe making 70+ count would be good but griefing and random pking will always be a part of this game just like its a part of every game.

Just because the game wasn't designed that way doesn't mean it's correct. Lineage was one of the first games of this type when it came out and competition was much lower. But there are lots of games like diablo or wow which have robust pvp environments that do not have the "death sucks" mechanic.
This is is a thread asking what can be done to encourage pvp, not how do we turn this into classic lineage...
eliminating downsides, no matter how small they may be in your mind, will increase pvp while increasing downsides will lower it. That's common sense. If you want more of something you have to encourage it in some fashion, either by rewarding the behavior you want or penalizing the behavior you don't want.
everyone claims to want more pvp, but I think what people really want is more opportunity to make their targets lose exp/items. It seems the same on the surface but actually isn't.

It took you a while Calvin, I never knew you on Live. But you were indeed notorius.
Around 30% of the lineage population prefers PvE. Purely.
I came back to Lineage after 11 years. I played Zelgo for like 1.5 month from scratch. Made level 74 even with a constant daily PvP harrassing. People rPKing you. I left because there was no purpose to be on a server where your enemies (almost everyone due rPK) had at least 1K livers on them. Fid weapons +7? A joke.
Point system just degrades PvP. If you want to measure your ePenis, you have real issues.
I PvP because the thrill of the PvP. I PvP because I can get a reward for my pledge.
Long ago I was a game developer. It stuns me how some gamers just detroy the game they love. I am pretty sure people cheating on this server: speed hack, walk through, RMT, level service.
It is the nature of some humans. Still, the admin stuff is putting some effort. Good for them.
You want to improve the server? You need constant new players or people that doesn't get demotivated. RPK discourages the first.
Also, Lineage wasn't meant to be multi-account. Personally, I got tired of managing a pledge and all the rats trying to get inside the pledge. I never wanted to manage a pledge.

Siege point system: so, I just have 5 accounts level 55 and my pledge kills them over and over. Easy siege.
Dont't take it wrong. It is better than nothing. And the development effort is also good. But,
"Holding Castle" Time would be the right option.

The blind potion/floating eye meat... I haven't tested out... But on beta it hindered your vision to 2 cells.
So, yeah, you see people next to you, but elves pin you down and you don't even notice what is hitting you.

Killing/dying is a part of lineage, but a pt system for it other than in siege for more pvp shouldn’t really be needed.

Just to make it clear, that won't work. Not only would that get the prince and/or the involved players jailed for abuse.. it wouldn't even give you enough points to win. Please actually wait until you have an understanding of it, or have of tried to throw conjecture.

Coincidently, that's exactly how it works. You're judging / commenting on something when you don't even know how it works. I would suggest that you try it first, I've put it on Test server specifically to allow people to try it, and provide feedback and suggestions. I have no problem with players providing criticism - in fact, I encourage it... but the players must actually have of tried it and/or have an understanding of it to provide accurate feedback.

That is nowhere near close to how it works, so why are you commenting and judging it with something that doesn't even come close to making sense? It serves to spread mis-information only. It's purely conjecture. You're vision is not limited to 2 cells. It's on test server, and would take you all of 30 seconds to try it before commenting on it.

While it's a cool little feature to display all-time/monthly kills on /who, I don't think it's really necessary and I could see how it would discourage pvp somewhat (albeit not too dramatic). Calvin and I have had a great many discussion on this topic and don't totally see eye-to-eye on the overall state of pvp on this server. From my perspective, there's a satisfactory amount of it going on. If a specific group of players tends to dominate the field with little to no casualties, then proceeds to incessantly ridicule/troll their opponents following any given altercation, it stands to reason players might have a "screw those guys" attitude and choose not to engage them. This is lineage and trash-talk/trolling is part of the game. When it's taken beyond moderation, however, many people are naturally going to tune that person(s) out and avoid them if there's no way to effectively retaliate.
On the issue of chao... Until there are fixes put in place that would limit chao-making/campers, I believe this would be counterproductive. It gives people who rely on chaomakers/campers to enhance their playstyle an unbalanced advantage. Examples: Chaomakers blocking doors at lasta 4f, chaomakers going after chaotic knights to trigger their CB and make them more chaotic or send them to hell. Higher penalties for killing campers at karma bosses should be avoided. If anything, measures should be made to reduce the rewards or introduce penalties for chao-makers and campers.
COI ganking - It's always been around. Most of us have been on the giving and the receiving end over the years. That said, I'm neutral on the issue. I did like the idea of enhancing other hunting venues to encourage diversity but can also see how this would reduce pvp.

its the internet o.o trolls are everywhere. theres an amazing feature people can use, /exclude if they dont want to see certain chats lol
trash talk is part of the game, but it seems to be double standard when you guys complain about it lol. you have players from your pledge constantly griefing specific individuals about their sexuality etc its 2019 lol, get over it about the trolling/trash talk just have your guys learn to exclude. literally none of else ever complains bout shit said to us on global whisper or alts lol

chaonaking isnt a problem if people simply dont kill them? other than times Im actually chaomaking, ive experienced your bp intentionally walking around the wall into a room in gp while im just warching x pledge vs x pledge to kill and grief my watcher going chao. ive been on newbie char non chaomakers where your guys would walk around speciiclally take the time to kill it mid fight lol its one thing to choose to kill someone but its nother when you jntentionally kill a player and then claim chaomade lol. this has also been a part of the game as tactics to disable destroy mages/heals since heal is lawful/chao base.

coi gank and rpk is part of the game, but I learned to stop affer what happened to zelgo with constantly griefs on new players or pve guys

Why not remove the PVP death penalty entirely? That would minimize the impact on new players trying to level up and would encourage more participation at sieges.

XP loss death penalty is already so low on this server, don't remove it from siege.

You literally lose nothing as death penalty o.o
the amount of exp you lose from dying is literally close to nothing especially when you’re 75+ it’s like .05% lol. even when lower level you lose 5% which takes 2 packs from gp
It’s really just the constant rpk and ganks on new players etc that causes people to leave. And this is literally coming from personal experience of what I’ve did on previous server, yes I did it at the beginning but it’s justifiable when everyone started similar time and equivalent levels. Now it’s high lvl 72+ griefing sub 60s etc. People won’t stop doing this due to the fact they know they may or may not gain pts from the kill . New players = possible pts .

I think removing the PK stats would be beneficial for the server's PVP as well. Could stop RPK'ing from happening as much.
