@Calvin, it doesn't punish the highest level players: It actually benefits them to an extent because they've already been able to grind in GP to a higher level than a cap would allow. They'd have to be grandfathered in.

EXP doubles every level after soft cap.. there's nothing better than GP, there's no reason to cap it for X level lol. If a level 77 wants to hunt GP and chase level 78, then they can hunt GP, they make what? 1% every 3 hours...? If people wants to spend their time hunting there to have a level advantage over others,then so be it lol. What we need is just more alternative hunting spots. Instead of trying to "stop" others from outleveling others where the game is heavily influenced by level for pvp and pve I would suggest just waiting or asking GMs for revamped TOI etc if they have the maps. NCSOFT revamped a lot of areas that makes game more enjoying for solo or in a group.....

it's unfortunate there isn't a lvl cap, cause lv65-70 you have to either not goto GP or give PKs to bad player, since your deaths actually start to matter. With lv75 gank squads down there and being <70, you aren't strong enough to survive a poorly organized gank squad of 3 people yet.

Seems like a level cap is a good idea. A ten year server is going to have attrition. If you can't attract new players, it won't last. I think most new players probably accept they will not catch the leaders, but 3 to 8 level disparity at end game is pretty rough.
