Boss camping improvement
I got friends that left this server due boredom to see people leaving chars at a specific boss. It was Varlok.
I want to think the they would come back. But the truth is, unfair competition makes people wonder.
Wel, like I pointed out, the boss camping is hard to solve.
- Random timer? Doesn't solve the problem. They just leave the alter longer camping.
- Random spawn? This one is pretty decent. But the spawn area needs to be large enough. There are monsters, like DG or Varlok that have a limited level area.
- Disconnect players out safe zone after X time. Probably Exploitable.
- Area timer. This is the one I think is more accurate to fairness. You enter Varlok Area? You have 5 minutes and then you are kicked out. You enter DG area? same.
It is not a problem to camp. It becomes a problem when you leave an alter to do it. I have people in my pledge actively camping. It sucks, because the unfair competition of alter-camping.
To implement the Area Timer, you have different options. The easiest is to replicate the functionality of "Pet Races", or "Haunted House". But, you have also a hidden timer in the Level 15 Knight Quest I think. Well, the one that takes place in SKT. If I recall properly. Not 100% sure about it.
Why to implement it?
First, people that have left due this reason will have a reason to come back.
People that are getting tired of the situation will be encouraged to keep trying.
People who abuse alter-camping will be discouraged.
There will be more PvP to contest the area. Or, people who already has the item, will move on making game more fair.

Thanks for the suggestion, you are assuming I don't. That I don't use it, doesn't mean I dont have it.
Still, I would rather work on a solution to "improve" the quality of the game.

The one issue that I take with this is that it actually takes quite a lot of work to make a Lok camper, relative to other campers. They're alts, sure, but there's a pretty significant time investment there.
One other "solution" that has come up before is to add CB to the loot table of another boss (some have suggested KV because I think he may have dropped in on live?) at a lower rate so that people have options. Put it on the real KV at something like 0.30% and on junior KVs at .03% or something.

Mhmmm I haven't post many suggestions as you suggest... Implemented where? Here? Ruin what? People RMTing?
Let me see what I've suggested...
- Boss camping improvement, posted 28-mar. Not even reviewed/replied by GM. So... I don't see anything ruined.
- level based or MR based skills, posted on 27-mar. GM reviewed and replied. Some people too. Every seemed to see as a positive direction. Even GM confirmed that it was so in Korea. Common sense if you ask me. But not implemented... I don't see anything ruined.
- Elven SC drop table TOI 9x. Done, Implemented. I don't see anyone complaining. I don't see anything ruined.
- PvP Improvements, posted 13-jan. Asking to add more sieges and more siege cycles or even Team arenas. Not implemented. Haven't ruined anything thus.
- Cancel Magic on pledge mates, posted 6-Dec. Implemented. I used personally to spare with friends. A nice addition. Toggle On/Off. Haven't ruined anything that I notice, only improved people with less PvP experience to learn some.
Euhh.. Could you please enlighten me which suggestion post of me ruined the lineage for you? Because I do really try my best suggesting ideas to improve it for all of us.
Or even better, instead of just spreading lies, try to suggest ideas to improve the game. We all can use some.

My suggestion is to solve the "Camping" problem. Which is based on millions adena/hour. Because incredible as it sounds, there is people out there earning their bread with private-lineage servers content...
Adding CB to some monsters, would not solve the "camping". It might solve the CB stock/availability. And it would, if the monsters who drop it have the same spawn timer(or overlapping). Otherwise, it would only increase the problem.
I am not against spread CB to more mobs or even adding Destroy to Ice Queen (so it was in LoA live server, same as all dragons dropping Destroy not only Valakas).
But, I can understand that the drop list of such 2 items remains limited.

I'm totally agree with Darkjustice. The "afk-boss camping" it's a cancer for the game, and it's starting to go outcontroled.
You can find nowadays campers in:
Varlok, Diamond Golem, Beleth, Ancient Giant, Demon, Ice Demon/IQ and sometimes Baphomet.
The worst comes now you only need 2 hours of play to made a camper for them and like 15 to 20 with help to get one for Varlok.
Even I started some days to camp a Boss because others was camping too, and I said that's totally stupid to try to come and come, when I can put a character and goes AFK until the boss comes, specially if another is doing, because if I continue doing random checks others will have the advantadge to come in the second that the boss spawns.
The problem it get worst when some people is hunting the bosses to get items to sell for real money. For that people every "big" item counts because they need the money to get until the end of the month, and because some other stupids buy for real life money, it's like a chain unstoppable.
The problem of the RMT can't be solved easily, and it gives a lot of headaches for the Gm's. But the boss camping is a problem that needs be stoped now that is starting to get uncontrolled or we will see in few months like 10 campers in each boss and if the Gm put hard for campers in second point the RMT sellers will be affected too.
Extra solutions/options to put it hard:
- Disable the option to has multiple clients.
- Forbide the "AFK-Camping" and if anyone is discovered by GM doing that: Ban!, but not instantly, track the "real player" behind the camper and ban his main too.
- As Darkjustice said add a Timer in all dungeons because a time between 5~10 minutes is more than enough to get and kill:
- Baphomet/Beleth/Demon/Ice Demon/IceQueen/Varlok/Diamond Golem/Chaos/Death
Hardcore Solution (for me the best solution):
Make: - Baphomet/Beleth/Demon/Ice Demon/IceQueen/Varlok/Diamond Golem/Chaos/Death stronger like dragons with one shot kills and crazy regen, and increase*10 the drop rate for great items.
So if you want to kill them, you need a party of 10 guys with good equipment and well organized. Because when is easy to get level 70's the server needs bosses that are stronger.
As I said in the post about Diamond Golem, lineage is a MMORPG and the game is about to go to a dungeon and make a raid to kill the boss or after a long hunt in a place has the oportunity of kill a boss. The problem it comes when someone AFK doing nothing, just playing on his main and wait until the boss comes.
That's my suggestion and I really hope that the GM take this as a serious matter.

I just suggested an "Area time". One suggestion.
So far, I have never seen it implemented. I argumented that most of the solutions are flawed and I posted them as an argument of the "Area timer".
Again, I suggest that when you post: try to add something positive and constructive. Not only a sentence that doesn't help anyone.
See? there My suggestion on the post: suggest.
If you say that "Area timer" is flawed as a solution, try to argumentate... Put some examples... or EVEN better, suggest an improvement. So we get rid of campers. Because I will tell you what campers are for: greed.
And greed is no good.

One thing I’ve never liked about campers is that there’s no great PVP solution to them. You can kill them, but you’ll go chao and their corpse will sit there for a long time allowing them to still see what’s going on. Most community problems should have community solutions, so my vote would be a reasonable but short AFK timer that would make campers pink in Normal zones after something like 2 minutes of inactivity, and the Restart screen would time out after like 30 seconds. If they’d like to continue camping, they can do so, it’s just gonna be a pain in the ass.

First i do agree that something needs to be done, but implementing a timer wont work, some of these guys play 10 hours+ a day....i used to be one of those guys years ago....trust me, hardcore people are hardcore, especially lineage players, they will figure out a way to beat the system...and tbh, there is nothing wrong camping bosses, they invested countless hours playing on server, lets not take it away from them. For people who could only spend 1-3 hours a day or less, you wont be able to kill any bosses competing against people who invested 3x the time than you, or may be kill a few if you are lucky....i just killed my 2nd kurtz and 3rd AG since i started here....about 4-5 months...lol....
I do agree with you that changes are needed
1. Add some of rare skill/item drops to other bosses...toi 10f, 20f, 30f, 40f...etc etc.
2. Making boss spawn timer completely random, apprently, the current "random" boss spawn timer is still easily timed and predictable...
3. Add boss island scrolls event....
many people has quit or switched classes due to some skills/items are impossible to get, especially knight cb....
Do we want a change? Lets do a poll on that....Right now, i just want that 2nd server milestone update from the GM team, i could live with another few months without seeing bosses.....and other shit
PS. Join DM, guarantee to see a boss!!!!! I mean if you dont get pk'ed in there Lolololol (Please disable pvp during DM )

Do not add CB to any other drop table. The entire point of having it be a drop from Varlok is to make players dedicate to being a certain side of Karma and make the key. There are bps where majority of its players are the wrong side of karma. That is a decision they made and could easily change it like some players have to dedicate their effort to CB over soul frags or chaos/death gear.
Regarding changes to bosses like baphomet/beleth etc, there is no need to make them as strong as dragons. Their drop tables do not reflect that strength being warranted.
One change I think that may help is shortening boss cycle timers so that campers can't get multiple bosses in the same window. They will need to commit to one boss more because they won't have time to go from boss to boss unless they get lucky with an early spawn, which doesn't happen very often.

CB skillbook is obtainable from different bosses on live....Antharas, Head Warder Taros, Darkness Knight Vlad, Death Knight, Fafurion, Varlok, Lindvior, Girtas, Flame Lords and they are also obtainable from christmas event socks, pandora boxes and druga clan boxes in later updates (very very low rate, along with other rare spellbook) if i remember correctly, so basically you could collect all dragon parts like claw, flesh, heart, bone etc. etc. and turn them into the quest npc and you get druga clan boxes.

Yeah, considering that Destroy SB was added to Valakas and Diamond Golem (as it should have been), it stands to reason CB could be given a similar treatment at a low or very low drop rate. Varlok should remain far and away the most reliable way to get it, but giving players options will hugely reduce the outrage over campers.
