Update: Server Updates 07-15-20
Note: This update requires that you run jLauncher.exe to update text files, or that you manually download the udpated text files from Discord or Website.
I am going to try and push out updates a bit less measured and quicker. What I mean, is that instead of trying ot balance and test everythin to a perfect fit, there will be some changes that I am going to just push to live to see the impact.. basically take a bit more risks. Granted, we've had a good run of very few bugs from updates and I don't want to put that at risk.. but there are some things we can just try, and see the impact. Doesn't mean that everything will stay. For instance, changing AoS to be LoS is something that I am just taking a chance on to see the impact. Changing to Aden castle, lets give it a shot and see what happens. Mass teleport no longer stacks players, lets give it a try.
There are changes / tweaks that can be made that are not heavy code changes, and moving them to Live will allow me to get a better representation on the impact of them. These come and go over the timeline. NcSoft completely removes mana daggers in the future, for instance.
Time to see the progress of change, and adapting and tweaking it further as needed.
****PENDING CASTLE CHANGES: On Saturday, before the siege, the server will be rebooted to change the castle to Aden Castle. At this point the GM BP will take ownership of the castle, and a free for all will occur for ownership. In the VERY near future (Not Saturday), there will be two castles awarded with different rewards. The peldge with second highest points will be awarded a smaller castle, but the siege will still occur only at the one main castle. One Siege: Two Castles. More details soon.
General Updates:
- Fixed minimum stun rate.. it was being applied in the wrong spot - not working at all. The minimum stun rate for players of the same level is 5% minus 1% per level difference.
- Mobs that were intended to cast Polymorph on screen now no longer take Line of Sight into consideration, their mechanic has been upgraded to increase difficulty.
- Enabled Yahee boss spawns as the difficulty has been increased to where I wanted it.
- Fixed bug where invis + Detection spam could cause a player to disappear on screens.
- Added Damage Reduction Note to some items (will add the rest soon).
- Added Proc description to Staff of Baphomet, Mana Dagger, Frozen Spear, Arch Mage's Staff.
- Fixed a bug that would cause timed items (ex. Feather Town) to be deleted prematurely when logging off with them equipped.
- Timed items will no longer decrease when logged off.
- All werewolfs/lycans are now properly marked as Werewolf in the database for the bonus damage.
Illusionist Changes:
- Rewrote the illu cubes from scratch to not use TimerTasks and get rid of the last sleeps from the code.
- Fixed icon duration to more closely match the spell bonuses applied to the characters.
- Damage applied to monsters or players now properly come from the owner, and not an effectInstance (pets will aggro now).
- Increased damage of Ignition Cube from 10 to 15 damage.
- Success rate of Confusion has been increased to 30%. This casts silence for 2 seconds, but only at a 30% chance.
Ivory Tower:
- Fixed Paperman spawns on IT4F to be targeted as monsters.
- Fixed Adena drops for mobs in the Ivory Tower Renewal.
- Fixed mismatched mob names in the database/website/client for the Ivory Tower renewal update.
- Fixed MR of the newned IT Demon back to original difficulty (while still allowing illu to kill it as it was before today).
- Updated more mobs to be aggro in the Ivory Tower Renewal update.
- Varlok's Servant has been made 'small'.
Balance Fixes / Changes:
- Getting detected from Cloak of Inivisibility (not the spell) will now properly trigger a delay to equip the COI again to prevent COI spam. This was taken from video evidence to how it was supposed to work on live for this time period.
- Getting detected from the Invisibility spell will not cause a delay with being able to cast invis again instantly, but if you cast invis after being detected out there is a short delay on being able to cast other spells while invisible (you can still cast invis spell repeatedly at the cost of MP).
- You can no longer walk through invis players, they now properly occupy cells as NcSoft had intended which also makes COI ganks harder. Players that are invis will now occupy cells just like a non-invis player. This is how it should of been.
- Mass Teleport no longer stacks all players on the same cell. Instead, everyone is randomly placed around the caster as NcSoft had intended, which also makes COI ganks harder.
- Mana dagger now only drains 1 mp based on a random chance up to 200 MR. The staff of Mana remains unchanged in its ability to drain MP. This was a mistake that was proven through NCSoft updates (in the future Mana Dagger is removed from being able to be created).
- Earth Bind was updated too far in the future, when elves have different spells available to them. Earth Bind now properly reflects where we are currently (9 to 12 seconds) to undo the change that made Earth Elves irrelevant and will bind the target for 9 to 12 seconds randomly. There is now Bind Resist gear more readily available to counter this spell (Bind Resist T-Shirt from feather town).
- Area of Silence no longer casts through walls/cliffs as a way to prevent excessive griefing and encourage more PVP in contested zones. This is a custom change we are trying out to see if it helps encourage pvp.
Wedding Rings:
- Can no longer get married without a wedding ring in your inventory.
- Now costs 5m Adena to get a divorce. Just be happy they aren't taking half of everything you own.
- Wedding Rings (Gold & Silver) no longer possess the ability to teleport, can only be used to get married marriage.
- Wedding Rings now have their proper charges from 1 to 20 per ring.
- Goddess Ariel in Aden church will recharge your wedding rings for 100k per ring. Your partner is required to be there with you. This is a marriage, not a solo act.
- Can no longer use wedding rings when your partner is in non-bookmarkable spots including pledge houses.
- All current rings have had the proper charges applied.

Just can't help noticing the big change of mana dagger. You mentioned in your post that "in the future Mana Dagger is removed from being able to be created". Just wondering if this is something in your plate coming up next?

ok, then during these few years gap, is it possible to make mana dagger a bit useful instead of just letting them sit in ppl's' storage for nothing? after all, billions of $ have been invested in this one of the most popular items since day one. for example, perhaps make it undamageable, so can enjoy it without switching to ori? just kind of feel sad seeing such a valuable item got turned down to a total garbage.

Yah, I agree. It was wrong sicne day one. It never drained that much MP.
Making it unbrekable is something i'd consider though, if that would help?

not sure about others, but I personally think making mana dagger unbreakable would definitely help in this case, and probably the simplest fix with the minimum impact - no affect mp drain, no affect dmg, etc, :)

Not sure this actually serves its purpose. Nowadays, it just same BP with more than 1 party spot hunting in DL all day and no PVP, no siege. IMO, this is bad for the new comers because they will never be able to catch up with them since the best they get is GP.

I see multiple pledges hunting in DL. I regularly see up to 3 different pledges hunting there in different spots when doing my checks. This is how nonsense perpetuates when people make claims that aren't based in actual fact.
Yes, there is not constant PVP lately, and yes there hasn't been any sieges. However, everytime I suggest a change players jump down my throat about it being geared towards one person or another, and I get the same nonsense from ALL pledges. Point in case, I wanted to test castles with the intent of opening a second castle.. and your pledge accused me nonsense, and questioned what was 'driving the change' even though I was clear from BEFORE I changed the castle that I was testing it, and the reasons... if they chose to read. So I gave up. Decided that if players want to complain about progress, changes and keeping things fresh... then awesome, you can sit with the non-PVP and no sieges if thats what the players want, which clearly it is. You want to keep that castle uncontested, fine, its yours.
Now, I have you questioning what changing AoS to LoS accomplishes and suggesting it will somehow hurt PVP and newcomers? Your pledge was among the ones complaining about the AoS abuse and requesting it be LoS to prevent people from being able to hide almost off screen on the other side of a cliff and constantly AoS without and reprecussions with the sole intent of ruining the gameplay experience of others. How does fixing this negatively hurt the server? How does this not serve a VERY CLEAR PURPOSE that I expressed?
You can still AoS enemies, you just need to run up to them and use AoS, then you can leave/come back. The only difference is you can't sit there over a cliff where nobody can get you being a dick for hours on end with zero reprecussion.
Maybe I am missing something, but please feel free to use an explanation, facts and/or evidence or even examples to assist with helping me learn where AoS being LoS is a bad thing.

PVP shouldn't happen at JUST SIEGES ONLY. The whole game is built around fighting for hunting zones, bosses, etc lol
You are all welcome to go fight us at l4, Varlok, ag, dl etc
i don't see what's wrong with AOS, I've been kicking out all my enemies with AOS at DL ever since the update still lol. They just don't come back to fight me out of there o.o

Nobody said anything about PVP being at siege only, so your not adding value to this thread. Joey clearly stated no PVP, (comma) no siege.
